Straight Edge Construction was involved with two separate projects for the Department of Parks, State of New Jersey at the Island Beach State Park. The first project consisted of a roof replacement and lightning protection of the maintenance building that was damaged several times by lightning strikes. It was a challenging project, which involved overcoming high ocean winds while working 50 feet in the air. Straight Edge also replaced the roof at an old park office with Alaskan Yellow Cedar. This is the first prototype installation using this material in the State of New Jersey.
